Breathe. Focus. Move.

Hi, I’m Matt. I’m a student of yoga. And I teach it a bit.

Yoga has been life-changing for me. I’m passionate about yoga as a tool for self-exploration, regulating the nervous system and connecting with the body. In its simplest form, yoga is about controlling the breath, focusing the attention and mindfully confronting physical challenges. I know from experience that movement can be medicine, but it’s also so much more than that. Movement is joy, play, freedom and confidence – and that’s what I’m keen to share. 

My classes are Vinyasa flow-style, combining traditional yoga postures and sequencing with elements of other modalities, such as strength training and mobility work. The classes are sometimes gentle, sometimes strong and fiery, but can be adapted to all levels and all bodies. Everyone is welcome.

I currently teach twice a week at Merchant City Yoga in the centre of Glasgow, and host a monthly handstand club (usually the third or fourth Saturday of the month – see MCY’s website for details). There are also workshops from time to time.

Wednesday 6–7:15 – Vinyasa flow at Merchant City Yoga, Virginia Street, Glasgow

Friday 12:30–1:15 – Lunchtime yoga flow at Merchant City Yoga
